Being able to refer to a playbook in a time of crisis could save more than just time and money, it could also save someones life. The process involves establishing detailed procedures and work instructions for organisations to follow in the event of a disaster.

For catastrophic events or extended significant outages a crisis management plan would also be required. A crisis is not a great time to begun planning how to respond to one.

Crisis Management

A Business Continuity Plan is a detailed document that outlines the processes, procedures, and resources required to ensure that critical business functions can continue or be rapidly restored during and after a disruption.

Business Resilience is the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, strategies and programs to assist an organisation in preventing, preparing for, responding to, managing and recovering from the impacts of a business disruption event.

The purpose of a Crisis Management Plan (CMP) is to provide a framework for how the organsation will respond to a crisis, including the roles, responsibilities and process of the business Crisis Management Team (CMT).
